Public sector banks, State Bank group, ICICI Bank in India have announced recruitment of banking staff in large numbers. These banks recruit clerical staff and officer staff as Probationary Officers. This recruitment is done through a written test and interview. Some banks also conduct 'Group Discussion' for recruitment of probationary officers (POs).

These recruitments are repetitive in nature and normally conducted once in a year by each Bank. Some old generation Private Sector Banks also do such recruitments to take freshers.

The tests for POs exams are normally to test:

  1. General English
  2. Quantitative Aptitude
  3. Reasoning Ability
  4. General Awareness

The test for Clerical recruitment is objective type on:

  1. Reasoning ability
  2. Numerical ability
  3. Clerical Aptitude
  4. English
  5. Socio-Economic, Banking awareness
  6. Computer awareness

1. Written Tests:

IBRT has devised specialised coaching programs for written tests as under:

  1. Regular Coaching for Bank Clerical Written Test: Duration 2 months.
  2. Intensive Coaching for Bank Clerical Written Test: Duration 1 week.
  3. Regular Coaching for Bank POs Written Test: Duration 2 months.
  4. Intensive Coaching for Bank POs Written Test: Duration 1 week.

IBRT also conducts 'mock interview' sessions for both clerical and POs selection.

3. Group Discussion:

IBRT also conducts 'mock group discussion' sessions for POs selection.

4. Faculty:

IBRT has a panel of 'faculty' and 'facilitators' derived from the banking fraternity and academic field.
